Give KU coach Bill Self a ton of credit for his comments after Kansas’ overtime win against Colorado on Wednesday.
While plenty of coaches would have berated their players for their effort, Self didn’t travel down that road.
Instead, he lauded Colorado’s play. “They were the best team by far the first 10 minutes, and I thought without doubt the next 30,” Self said. “I am not going to say we played poorly because it doesn’t give them the credit they deserve. They played well.”
That’s a far cry from a coach who came to Boulder a couple of years ago, lost and then said he was “embarrassed.”
Self could have spent his post-game press conference ripping his players. It’s what too many coaches would have done.
Instead, he made sure to praise CU.
That’s class.
