Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch is living in a dream world.
On Friday, Hatch “leaked” a letter he’d received from the Justice Department saying that the Obama administration is considering several steps that would review the legality of the controversial Bowl Championship Series.
Hatch, of course, is still ticked off that Utah didn’t get to play for the [...]

From the Dept. of Really Bad Ideas …
Ugh.
According to an Associated Press story, Eastern Washington is going to take a cue from Boise State and install something other than the “normal” green artificial turf on its home field.
Boise State, of course, is famous for its blue field, dubbed the “Smurf turf.”

The ultimate call-up …
Here’s a story you don’t hear very often …

The 2007 second-round draft pick was named the MVP of the Arizona Fall League. Last summer, he was the only player in all of minor league ball to hit [...]
Recruiting rankings reality
Never been a fan of recruiting rankings. Is it hard to guess that Florida, Texas and Alabama will have top 10 classes this year?
So, here’s my annual look at how the numbers didn’t add up for everyone:
Boise State (finished No. 4 in the AP poll): Last four recruiting classes were ranked 73, 78, 57 and [...]
